HOW WE CAME TO BE
get to know raven book design better
Raven Book Design was established in 1995 by Fiona Raven. Linda Parke joined forces with Fiona in 2007, and together they’ve provided top quality book design services to indie authors worldwide. In 2017, Fiona took a step back from designing books to focus on her own book, Book Design Made Simple, and Linda assumed the role of senior designer.
We’ve designed hundreds of books in collaboration with authors just like you, and gained a lot of experience along the way. That’s why we’re able to answer many of your questions and help you avoid costly pitfalls.
You’ve probably noticed that the publishing industry has changed dramatically in recent years. With the advent of digital printing, print-on-demand, and ebooks, there are now more choices than ever for book publishing. We specialize in book design and stay current with the latest trends and technologies so we can continue to offer you the best possible product based on your publishing needs.
Being independent book designers allows us to work directly with you to achieve the result you’re looking for. We don’t subcontract work to less experienced designers or send it offshore. This way we can maintain the highest standards of quality while involving you in the process as much or as little as you want. Our priority is that you get exactly what you want for your finished book.
Our design studio was located in Kitsilano, in the heart of the arts community in Vancouver, Canada. Yet very few of our clients are able to come to our studio in person, so instead we meet by phone, email, Zoom or Skype. If you’d like to discuss your upcoming book, please visit our Contact page and find the easiest way for you to reach us. We look forward to hearing from you!

“Linda's knowledge of all things book-related, from covers and colors and captions, to fonts and layout and photos, along with prompt and competent responses to questions, made the journey enjoyable and the end product terrific!”
“Working with Linda was a lovely experience and my book looks absolutely great!”
“The cover of Entitled needed to give the potential reader insight into the genre, the journey of the book and the tone of the writing. Linda delivered an exceptional cover design that captured the spirit of my novel. She also handled a parallel storyline within the novel’s pages with creativity and enthusiasm. I’ve since sold thousands of copies.”
We have our first meeting, you share your vision, we give you an esimate and get started!
